About this deal

Gbps HIGH SPEED: ORICO M.2 NVMe SSD external case adopts the latest USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C interface. Support UASP acceleration protocol and support... Many tool-free enclosures have a slide-in design while this Sabrent enclosure has what they call a ‘sandwich design.’ The way it’s closed, it puts more pressure between the heat pad and SSD, leaving no space between the drive and heat pad – forcing the heat out. Just a while ago I shared a tutorial about building your own external SSD and how easy it is to do so. All you need is an internal SSD along with a compatible NVMe enclosure. Fix the SSD into the enclosure and you are done. It’s that simple, really. ROG is a gaming lineup from ASUS under which it sells gaming laptops, monitors, keyboard, mouse and more. The ROG STRIX Arion is also made to look attractive like other ROG offerings, featuring ASUS Aura Sync RGB lighting technology to provide ambient lighting. And its looks make ROG STRIX Arion stand apart from other enclosures in this list. However, the main obstacle is that M.2 wifi cards are usually in A- or E-key, while SSDs are now coming in M-key. Those aren't compatible, so highly doubt there will be an M.2-to-USB (preferably 3 or higher) adapters with A or E key slot...

Maximum height of the components on the module: 1.35 mm, application of double-sided assembled modules supportedTranscend's CM80 enclosure is designed specifically for M.2 SATA SSDs. By following the step-by-step installation guide, you can transform an M.2 SATA SSD into a portable USB 3.1 Gen 2 external drive, maximizing utilization. There is already an M.2 interface in many PCs and notebook computers. It is ideally applicable to connect an SSD in a compact mobile device such as in a notebook computer and Ultrabook™ but also in a desktop PC. To accommodate devices with different USB ports, the M.2 SSD enclosure is engineered to convert to a USB Type-C port, offering flexibility of being used on different platforms with either USB Type-A or Type-C port.

Shell Thunder supports speeds as high as 2700MB/s read and 2000 MB/s write with compatible devices. It supports PCIe M.2 NVMe 2260 and 2280 SSDs but not SATA or other SSDs. To get closer to the maximum speed, you will need an SSD that supports high speed, a Thunderbolt 3 cable, and a device with TB3 port. New Macs and some Windows devices now come with Thunderbolt 3 USB-C type ports. The enclosure does not work with USB-C ports. So make sure your device has a Thunderbolt 3 port.ORICO M2PV-C3 features a sleek, lightweight aluminium build, although I find the design prone to debris pileup. It comes with USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables, a heat pad, a screwdriver, a screw, an a rubber support to keep the SSD in place. ONLY SUITABLE FOR PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD: ORICO M.2 to USB enclosure only for NVMe M-Key M.2 SSD (PCIe-based) up to 4TB, applicable to sizes 2230 / 2242 /... Not sure it's what the OP would like to use, though... it's definitely more complex and cumbersome than the typical SSD adapter. But as observed by 350D, the OP will need something to hold antennas at the very least.

Transfer Files in Seconds: Insert your M.2 NVMe/SATA SSD and connect to a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port to transfer files at speeds of up to 10 Gbps. So having something that can do much better range but still be compact enough to plug into an USB port is very good idea. Supports M.2 modules in format 2280, 2260, 2242 and 2230 with key M or key B+M based on PCIe or SATA LIGHTNING FAST] Built specifically for the highest deliverable speeds, Thunder easily achieves 2,700 MB/s Read and 2,000 MB/s Write, helping you...

OWN Envoy Express supports NVMe M.2 2280 SSDs and runs on Thunderbolt 3 interface. It’s worth mentioning that like Thunder, this OWC enclosure will not work with USB interface. If you have a recent Mac, it’s possible you have a USB-C port that supports both Thunderbolt 3 and USB interfaces. Also, you will need an SSD that supports the enclosure’s speed and a compatible cable (included) to get closer to the highest speeds. The M.2 standard contains variants with up to four PCIe lanes, one SATA 6 Gb/s and / or one USB 3.0 port. So it is possible to connect PCIe as well as SATA SSDs. Furthermore, both bus systems at every port can be used at the same time. Maximum height of the components on the module: 1.5 mm, application of double-sided assembled modules supported Utilizing top-quality 3D NAND Flash and rated to endure 3K P/E cycles, Transcend's microSDXC 460T memory cards combine the advantages of high performance and exceptional endurance at an affordable price. claims to be doing what the OP asks (and more, since it is conceived for WWAN, and hence has its own SIM slot, and related logic, and power adapter...).

It features a design that makes it easy to place an SSD inside – although it’s not completely screwdriver-less operation. USB-C to USB A cable doubles as USB-C to USB-C cable with an attached adapter, although I am not personally a fan of this design. It’s worth mentioning that Apple’s M1 Mac range has an underlying issue due to which, your external SSD will not receive it’s maximum speed. There are different signals available in the M.2 slot and various keys in the slot to show which ones are (or, might be) available. So M.2 key B has two PCIe lanes and one SATA, key M has four PCIe lanes, key E has has one PCIe lane (all of them can have USB). Wifi cards use the latter and typically connect over PCIe (it's interesting to note WWAN cards used to use USB but some of the latest ones are PCIe).
